  XXX geb. wahrschenlich in Zella, seine Eltern kamen beide von dort (he probably was born in Zella, both parents came from this village.) (Quelle/source: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=33723480) Eldest Son of Nichloas and Mary Elizabeth (Stitz) Mock, he was born in Prussia and came to America when he was 9 yrs. old with his parents. They located in Davenport, IA. The family moved to Hampton, IL, John and Elizabeth married in in 1858, and they moved to the family to Newbury, KS in 1869. The family of 15 children, lived on a farm N/E of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church where the family were members. John died of pneumonia after a long illnes. His funeral was held in the Catholic Church and was attended by a large number of his lifetime friends and neighbors and family
