    Eldest Son of Nichloas and Mary Elizabeth (Stitz) Mock, he was born in Prussia and came to America when he was 9 yrs. old with his parents. They located in Davenport, IA.
    The family moved to Hampton, IL, John and Elizabeth married in in 1858, and they moved to the family to Newbury, KS in 1869. The family of 15 children, lived on a farm N/E of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church where the family were members.
    John died of pneumonia after a long illnes. His funeral was held in the Catholic Church and was attended by a large number of his lifetime friends and neighbors and family

    Mary Elizabeth Meinhardt was born in Germany to Bernard and Catherine Meinhardt. She traveled accross the Atlantic Ocean with her family, arriving at New Orleans, LA in 1845. The family then traveled to a farm 5 miles north of Davenport, IA on 6 Jul 1845. Mary's mother died on 20 Oct 1845 when she was 8 years old.
    She married John Mock 20 Jun 1858 and moved to Newbury, KS.
    Mary Elizabeth Meinhardt Mock died on Tuesday evening, 21 Sep 1909 at her home, having only been sick for 36 hours. She was 71 years, 8 months, and 21 days old. She was respected and loved by all, a good Catholic. She is survived by nine children - Daughters, Elizabeth Schmitz,of Newbury, Emma Richstatter of St Paul, KS, Caroline Zoeller, Josephine Shilling, Paulina Mock, and sons Valentine, James, William and John; four sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Hesse of Newbury, Mrs. Julius Schott of McFarland, Mrs. Angeline Schott of Perry, OK, Mrs. Lawrence (Dorthy) Rogge of Davenport, IA, Phillip Meinhardt, Davenport, IA, and Adam Meinhardt of Paxico.
    Her funeral was held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Newbury, KS. All children and an unusually large number of friends and neighbors were present to pay their last respects.
    Sie hatte 15 Kinder.
